December 2021 - Fog Lane Park Covid Beacon Tree Planted as part of Queens Green Canopy!

After December's early excitement, here we are with the Friends of Fog Lane park, Council staff  and local Green Champs from St Cuthberts Primary School, helping plant the first of many Beacon Trees across Manchester as part of the Queens Green Canopy project.

This magnificent English Oak also is also a Covid Beacon Tree for the park - a living legacy for all those lost and affected by the pandemic.

The funding of some of phase 2 of Tree Action MCR has been provided thanks to stirling work from our brilliant local tree charity  City of Trees, as  part of a bid to Government's Urban Tree Challenge Fund.

The First of lots and lots more trees across the City!
